Vedic Numerology is a very ancient form of Numerology that originated in the Anka Shastra. According to it, the numbers 1 to 9, including 0 (Shoonya), which was invented in India, can help us understand ourselves deeply. The 9 planets, or Navagrahas, exert their influence on every event and all things in the world. This is the fundamental idea behind Vedic Numerology. Chandra/ Moon is the most important factor in understanding the self. The ascending and descending lunar nodes are Rahu and Ketu. This is a key aspect of Vedic astrology because, unlike other Numerology systems, it includes Rahu and Ketu, too.

Vedic Numerology is deeply rooted in Vedic ritual symbolism. It is part of the Samkhya philosophy, which is based on the principles of Purusha (spirit/consciousness) and Prakriti (Nature, emotions, and human mind). Numbers are an important part of the macrocosm, and their vibrations can impact us
Each number from 1-9 has a ruling planet. The vibrations of a number, together with the influence of its corresponding planet, have an effect on our lives. Numbers can be favorable or unfavorable depending on the planets in your birth chart.
Vedic Numerology can tell you what will work for you and what doesn’t so that you can make the right decisions in life and choose the right path.
When your number’s vibrations and actions are in harmony, there will be success in your endeavors.

Vedic Numerology and Personal Number Affiliations
In Vedic Numerology, there are 3 kinds of number affiliations
Psychic Number (Personal Number)
This number is obtained from the day of your birth.
Thus, if you were born on the 12th, your psychic number is 1 + 2 = 3, which is ruled by Jupiter.
Psychic numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 are favorable in Vedic Numerology.
Destiny Number
The destiny number is obtained from the complete date of birth.
Thus, if your birthdate is June 9, 1963, your destiny number would be 6 (June) + 9 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 3 = 34 and further simplified to 3 + 4 = 7.
Destiny numbers 1, 5, 7, and 9 are good in Vedic Numerology.
Name Number
Your name number is your link to the external material world. It will remain even after your physical presence has departed. It is the cumulative total of the numerical values assigned to each letter in your full name, including the first, middle, and last names. These values will be determined based on the chart below, with the exception of Number 9.
Vedic Letter Number Assignments
The numerological values given to the letters in the English alphabet are given below.
• A I J Q Y = 1
• B C K R = 2
• G L S = 3
• D M T = 3
• N E = 5
• U V W X = 6
• O Z = 7
• F H P = 8
The 3 categories of numbers are important when determining the suitability and alignment of dates for major events. When your psychic and destiny numbers are the same, they are in harmony. If so, they will have a key role in your life and decision-making.
By studying your horoscope, you can find out if your psychic number or destiny number is important in crucial aspects. If your destiny number is 6, for example, it reveals a deep connection with Venus in your birth chart.
If the destiny number is 9, there will be a strong Martian influence, often with Mars having a key position in your chart. This connection could extend to the planet’s degrees or positional indicators called Shadbala.
How to Use Vedic Numerology in Your Life?
Suppose you wish to buy a vehicle. The 4th House in your birth chart represents vehicles. So, the planets in the 4th House are crucial. What the planet signifies and what it bestows are important.
Let’s say that the 4th House’s lord, Cancer, has Saturn occupying it. Saturn is linked to Number 8.
The Moon is the dispositor of the 4th House, where Saturn is present. Where is the Moon situated, and does it form any good yogas? Which is the stronger planet, Moon or Saturn? That planet’s number has a role to play in choosing the licence plate number.
If Saturn is stronger, Number 8 is significant. If Moon is stronger, it will be Number 2.
The same thing applies when selecting the number of an apartment or house. In this case, too, the 4th House and its lord/dispositor are important.
